The Office of Environmental Health and Safety is implementing new safety guidelines for use of MS-222 (Tricane) in Georgetown University  laboratories, effective immediately.

• Engineering controls and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Mandatory use of appropriate PPE and engineering controls while working with MS-222.
• Chemical Handling and Storage: Adherence to proper procedures for the handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Emergency Procedures: Understanding and awareness of emergency protocols, including the use of safety showers and eyewash stations for exposure procedures.
