Occupational Safety

EH&S provides Occupational Health and Safety services to preserve and improve the safety of the workplace by developing and maintaining programs regarding human health including asbestos management, chemical safety, hazard communication, hearing conservation, heat/cold stress, indoor air quality, laboratory chemical hygiene, lead/heavy metals, odor responses, respiratory protection, and ventilation, etc.

GU endeavors to maintain safe working conditions for its staff and a safe and healthy environment for its students and visitors. This also includes Contractors and their respective workforces. Safety is an essential component of demolition, construction and renovation projects at GU.

For each project, the Contractor has the primary and ultimate responsibility for safety. For construction safety, GU requires compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) as found in title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

This Contractor Safety & Environmental Guidebook is intended to be used in support of these standards.
