Indoor Air Quality

EPA IAQ

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) refers to building interior air quality that could affect the health and comfort of the occupants. The causes of the IAQ concerns could be Indoor environment (inadequate temperature, humidity, lighting, excessive noise), Indoor air contaminants (chemicals, dusts, molds or fungi, bacteria, gases, vapors, odors) or Insufficient outside fresh air. Even though specific regulations have not been established for IAQ in the work place, EH&S office always considers the recommendations from the guidelines from the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). You can visit EPA IAQ site for more information.

To request an IAQ survey in your work environment, please fill out the Indoor Air Quality Assessment Request Form.
