The Lockout Tagout/Energy Control Program is designed to prevent serious injury or death to workers resulting from the unexpected startup or release of stored energy during the servicing and maintenance of machines and equipment. Hazardous energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, or other sources in machines and equipment.
