Refrigerant Management Program
The purpose of GU’s Refrigerant Management Program is to identify management, monitoring, tracking, and reporting measures with equipment containing ozone depleting regrigerants (ODS) are serviced or reparied on all GU campus and facilities. The refrigerant management plan is estalished and must be implemented by campus employees and contractors to limit emissions of ozone-depleting refrigerants.
The ODS are split into two groups under the Clean Air Act: Class I ODS, such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), and Class II ODS, such as hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). Visit Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Ozone-Depleting Substances website for more information.
