Laboratory Safety Manual and Chemical Hygiene Plan

The Laboratory Safety Manual (LSM) serves as Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) developed by EH&S in conjunction with the Joint Safety Team established a formal written Chemical Safety Program in compliance with OSHA Laboratory Standard 29 CFR 1910.1450. The CHP is a resource for Primary Investigators (PI) and Chemical Hygiene Officers (CHO) to develop their own lab-specific CHP to achieve compliance with the OSHA Laboratory Safety Standard and other federal and local regulations. The policies and procedures described in this manual are applicable to all investigators, research professionals and staff who are engaged in research at Georgetown University.
